Principally, point links are the links to specific pages and tabs on your website.

In other organic rosters, Google shows point links below the website description to help users find applicable and useful content on the website more fluently.

It’s relatively insolvable to specify a point link for your website because it’s a robotic process that can only be performed by Google’s algorithm.

How to Create A Sitemap?

At this point and there are a few ways by which you can create sitemaps and let’s explore.

1st Pen and Paper.

The first one which is the most common .

The first one is of course using pen and paper.

Now, this is great to get some quick ideas out there and especially if you want to move brainstorm a couple of pages quickly,

If you just want to get the ball rolling this is a great method and I encourage you to try it.

And I still use it from time to time especially when I have to get some quick ideas out there.

However, if you want to keep track of a bigger sitemap and really make it official I would definitely recommend you to just use pen and paper as a means to an end.

so I would just use pen and paper to create some quick wireframes some quick ideas maybe discuss it briefly with the founder the CEO or the manager where whomever I’m working with,

And after that, I would translate it digitally and have the entire site map in a digital format.

So the best ways or –

Slickplan.

One you can use a premium tool like slick plan.

I’m a little bit biased because actually, I’d really think that they were really good,

What they do, their service is impeccable and they really pay a lot of attention to detail.

And if you want to go with a premium tool to create a Sitemap a slick plan is absolutely the way to go.

It’s just a great tool it enables you to create sitemaps much more in a very easy way.

So if you’re willing to invest a little bit in a project it’s definitely something which I recommend you to check out,

Figma.

The second way by which you can do it is by just using a free tool like Figma.

I myself used it sometimes to create sitemaps and it works.

But it lets flexible than the premium tools because there are all sorts of things that cannot be optimized,

So you’re essentially creating some visual layers and then you’re moving them around all the time.

But I mean if you’re starting out or if you don’t want to invest that stage in a premium tool you can definitely use Figma or you can use the sketch Adobe XD like the tool doesn’t really matter,

The thing that really matters is that you create the sitemap in a way that is easy to manage because you don’t want to create a structure that isn’t scalable.

This is definitely something to consider so keep it simple don’t overthink it don’t add too many textual elements or too many icons imagery stuff like that just keep it very simple and you should be good to go

So I have some sitemap Tips.

Ask Yourself What is The Websites End Goal.

At the end of the day, that’s the most important thing and this applies also to iOS apps, Android apps.

Whatever UX project you’re working on you always want to keep track of the end goal and you want to understand also what the pain points are.

What are the pain points that you want to avoid for the users and basically understand the context in which we are operating?

Plan Your Primary Pages Then the SecondaryOnes.

Now the second thing is that you should always start by running out to your primary pages then the secondary ones and so on.

So if for example, you’re creating a website,

You should always consider the top-level content and then if you consider the nested pages inside that top-level content,

so always think our of directly because it’s the best analogy that would take a second think of is like a tree you always want to think through.

And create the base trunk first and then you’re going to create the branches.

The primary branches that you’re going to create the secondary branches the smaller ones essentially and so on,

Because this is going to enable you to think clearly about the problems in order of hierarchy.

And it’s going to enable you to create just a better project in a faster and more efficient way.

Leave Room for Contact Expansion.

This is something which you have to keep in mind as you’re building a project,

Because it’s although there were some projects which of course there the scope is limited and maybe it’s just a one-off but always keep in mind that content can expand that sections can expand.

Maybe you are going to add more pages new more sections or things of that nature.

So always keep this in mind and try to always create solutions that are expandable and not just any enable you to have opened the options for the future.
